Join the Collective team: Freelance Account Manager – NYC [closed]

Join Collective NYC and lead the North American business for a new retail client.

We’re looking for a Freelance Account Manager (3 days a weekfor a six month FTC, to lead the North American business for one of our global clients.

You’ll be the dedicated client go to, working directly with the VP Marketing / Head of Communications to deliver an array of campaigns, manage projects and continually develop the client relationship. Most importantly, our client will see you as an extended member of their team, by being reactive and supportive to deliver on their creative, strategic and account needs.

What will you need to do? 

  • Build rapport and credibility to comfortably engage in frequent contact and build a solid relationship with clients and partner agencies
  • Remain actively involved in “day-to-day” client initiatives, including understanding of business building, strategy, media and creative projects – also working from their NYC office on occasions
  • Manage client expectations regarding budget, scope of work, timing, schedules and process
  • Maintain client status reports, conference reports, change orders and any other documents and deliverables as required
  • Work with the UK account team in coordinating, preparing and producing deliverables and items for client presentations; reviews all materials before client presentations and final production
  • Monitor and shares competitive activity, market data and marketing updates
  • In absence of your line manager (based in the UK) you’ll need to be comfortable making decisions and dealing with all situations


What do you need to be considered?

  • A minimum of 3-4 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing a global brand in the North American market
  • Experience and a good understanding of the retail sector – Ecommerce and point of sale
  • Experience working in creative production, primarily in digital and print, with some film content experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and work across parallel workstreams
  • Happy to work in a new office where we’ll be building a team (our HQ is in London)
